Building a Culture  of Peace and Harmony

Incorporating fellowship standards into your fellowship is more than a formality; it’s a commitment to fellowship excellence, goodwill and understanding.

What is a Fellowship?

Let’s get on the same page by understanding:  What is a fellowship?   Fellowship is the word koinonia in the Bible.  It means people who are committed to each other.  And there is in an implication that the commitment to each other extends to together we see after the wellbeing of others.

A marriage is a koinonia

A family is a konionia

Those who commit together as the family of God are a koinonia.

Difference between Value Statements and Standards

Values are important.  Standards are values that people commit to share.

Strengthen Your Fellowship

By affirming shared standards, you strengthen your fellowship’s ability to live out and uphold values that knit us together.  Affirming shared standards lays a foundation for us to encourage one another and to fully enjoy our connection to each other. . As Hebrews 10:24-25 (NIV) encourages us, let’s “spur one another on toward love and good deeds.”   Part of doing this is through our dedication to visible standards that we agree to.
